Nice review.
Nice that somebody even review this can, cause its fallen in shadow by the HD650. 
For me its the perfect headphone. I cant point out any flaw. They are not designed for some genres, its designed for all genres. Well, they dont do any genre Insanely good, instead they do all genres extremly good. Why they was  placed behind the HD650 in the "50 flagship headphone reviewed" article will for me be a mysterium.

 After I was advised about the HD600's, I decided to order both the HD600 + 650 from the same place explaining I'd be sending one back. I listened to both headphones with my Pico Slim which I'm only using until I receive the new GS-X and preferred the 600's. I found the 650 had more bass, but the HD600 gave better detail so for me the 600 sounded a lot better than the HD650. So like Velocity mentioned, not sure why it's placed behind the HD650.
 
I've a 4 pin XLR custom cable on order for the 600's to use with the GS-X so I'll find out if there's much difference between that and the stock cable.

Some might prefer a little more bass.  It can make a headphone more musical to some.  The 600s might have better detail when the two are compared, but the 650s sure does not lack any detail.  
 
The GS-X will bring out all the detail a headphone has.  It will also dispose of it's true faults.

That's very nice of them to let you try out both.
I think people put the 650 above the 600 just because it's a higher model number, but from what I've heard, the HD598, 600, and 650 are almost the same, with a slight edge going to the 6X0 in terms of natualness and such, but that there is more of a difference in sound sig than sound quality per se.

I really do think the 600 lacks subbass quite badly, but unfortunately the 650 does as well... But the bass is fairly balanced on the 600, while being slightly elevated on the 650.

There is a huge difference to me between the hd598 and hd650. I listened to the 598 for three days and returned them. I still have the 650 with NO plans to sell it ever!!

I'm just going by what I've heard, in that the 598 has the least bass, while the 650 has the most, but some people say the HD598 does vocals the best out of the trio...

I've always thought the HD600 had the least. It's been quite awhile since I directly compared the two though. HD598's extension isn't too fabulous.
 
I think the HD598 is the worst of the three, personally. But that would make some sense considering it's price and position in the line up.

It looks that like for the bass on the 598 and 600 are fairly similar according to this graph, but there also looks like there's a bit more treble on the HD600, maybe a bit more in the 598's mids? I don't know. I guess you're right! I learned something tonight...

From what I remember, the HD598 and HD600 were too close to call in regards to the bass quantity without a direct comparison.
 
HD600 and HD650 have a better tonality than the HD598.

I don't like too much bass but I do like detail which is why after hearing both the HD600 & HD650 at home, I went for the HD600. I guess when using the GS-X instead of the Pico Slim the detail will improve, but until I have the GS-X I'm still very happy with the HD600 / Pico Slim combo. 
I've tried the HD600 / Pico Slim with my iPod and the SQ is still very good, although using my main source does take the SQ to another level.
 
For comfort, the HD600's are the most comfortable headphones I've ever worn, so here's hoping the senn electro headphones they are working on are similar to the HD600.

I am looking at the HD600. I have a Zune HD and Qinpu Q2 hybrid tube amp. Would I be better off upgrading my source (Zune HD) to a Hifiman 602 and keeping my amp, or my amp to an 02 and keeping my source? I can't afford to do both.

That B2 treble spike... I know what your talking about. For some reason, whenever Matt Bellamy of Muse makes the S sound, there's an ear piercing treble spike. Its gotten to the point where I don't want to listen to Muse on those IEMs

I've sold the B2s now and have the GR07s instead. Haven't had a problem with simbilance since. They also have the same general sound sig as the HD600s, which is nice.
