No not that I've noticed. I haven't exactly ab'ed the cables but I've used them quite a lot both with the old and the new one and I haven't noticed any difference.

Btw, just wondering something for IM02 owners. Are your shells getting scratched too easily? My wife's 2 week old IM02 seems to be picking up a lot of scratches lately.

Do you find that deep ear cleanings affect the way IEMs sound?
I cleaned out my ears today using 2 treatments of Hydrogen Peroxide and washing with water with gentle use of Q-Tips, and I feel like my IM02 have better soundstage and better bass now.
Has anyone noticed anything similar? I didn't feel like the amount of wax that came out during the cleaning was at all unusual.

When dealing with the few IEM's I've used I do get better SQ with cleaner ears. I in no way believe this is placebo but it's a canal, the less blockage the more air or anything can flow like a pipe.

Careful with the use of Q-tips. What often happens is one pushes the wax further into the ear, making for wax buildup. `
A Doctor, who cleaned out a blockage in my ear (sorry for sharing) of earwax, suggested that in the future I clean out my ears with water and a thin face cloth. Run shower into your ear as best as you can, then take wet facecloth, rub soap around a point that you can make with the facecloth, put it into your ear and wash out your ears that way. Run shower into your ear again to clean out any remaining soap.
 
I agree that clean ears give better sound. Earphones sit better in your ear, and less wax to block sound.

q tips are supposed to be for the outer ear not inside the ear canal. only thing that goes slightly into my ear canal is an IEM.

Thanks for the tip. I only used the QTips after the water spray and both HP soakings, so it was really more for drying than anything else, although it did still pull out some wax, but interestingly the wax was in the outer part of the canal rather than deep inside.

Does your ear canal get oily overtime after you insert the IEMs? I have this problem where after wearing the IEMs (for maybe abt 15mins), i can feel liquid in my ear canal walls, as if the wax is melting. haha. then i'll take the IEMs out, use a tissue to wipe it and my ear, then reinsert.

i've read articles where its said to use olive oil instead of water to clear the wax out. You might not know u have a tear in your ear canal, and shower water could lead to an infection. also cleaning too often would like to dryness in the ear canal, thus increasing the production of ear wax.

Get a check up at your nearest Ent specialist.

  just picked up the IM-70 for 70 bucks on amazon! stoked……I didn't like the IM-03, sent back…..I want to try the IM-02 from all the rave reviews

I was thinking of getting the IM03. Can you say what you didn't like about the IM03 (the build, sound, etc.)?
