Review in progress - Kenwood HD30GB9

Hi assorted! In your upcoming review there should be also some comments about the custom equalizer (nice and effective, for me, but not so customizable, especially in the midrange). Good work!

On a side note, assorted, I would imagine the Kenwood handily beats the imod unamped. Since the imod only has a lineout, unamped would be full volume all the time. Doesn't sound great.

It isn't a fair comparison. Unamped imod is an incomplete player

I know it's incomplete, but that didn't seem to be the information presented here. I just wanted to clarify -- though it seems everyone already knew.

Hi guys,

just received my white Kenwood HD30GB9 and it is a beauty!
not much time to post about it now, but i did snap a few pics so,
check it out. the white on the player is a piano white finish, comparing it to the D2, it is much more whiter! will post more about the player when i have some extra time

lmfboy01,

Congrats to your purchase.

What's the voltage ratings on the power adapter?

Can you take a photo of it?

Thanks!

Also waiting to hear both reviews. I have a D2 and also considering the kenwood HD30gb9. (312 euro, it's not too much

). I'd like to know if the kenwood sounds more smoother than the D2 (less sibilance) and has more bass! Because that would justify a purchase by me big time.

As some reviewer already pointout About "Kenwood HD30GB9 bass response are simply best even with or without bass boost". I personaly think it's(Kenwood HD30GB9)mustbe sound richer and more detailed than D2. Quote:

Kenwood HD30GB9 + E500PTH is very high on my dream portable list. It seems to have great potential for SQ and also uber portability. Very much looking forward to this review.
