REVIEW : DUNU DN1000 - Immensely Capable Hybrid IEM

Hey Rocky, Could you also make the nozzle a little smaller in diameter?

Please no - otherwise it would change the sound sig - and none of the standard sized tips would fit any more ......

djvkool and h20fidelity both have had the DN1000 and the original gr07.  Not sure about anyone who's had the gr 07 mk2 though.  I haven't heard any of the vsonics - so can't really comment.

Been a long time since I heard GR07 (MK2), though I can safely say DN-1000 is stronger in soundstage and instrument separation, tonality of DN-1000 cooler showing more clarity. I know GR07 is popular and won a ton of fans remaining the most balanced however I don't feel it's on the same level as DN-1000 personally overall.

I think those who come from GR07 may possibly find DN-1000 sounding a touch thinner or lighter in the mid range but superior in detailing levels. I really did like GR07 MK2 enough to own x2 pairs but I thought H-200 was an upgrade to the Vsonics and consider DN-1000 an upgrade from H-200 if that means anything to anyone, so not really the same playing field for GR07.

Hi Brooko,

I owned FA DBA02-MKII and it has a very good detail, good sound stage and separation. However i found the treble is slightly bright (ear fatigue) and the bass is not punchy and deep.

May I know if Dunu DN1000 has punchy and deep bass and smoother treble with similar detail, sound stage and separation like in DBA02-MKII?

Sadly haven' heard the DBA02-MKII.  I did own the B2 for a while though (original DBA clone) - and loved it.

What I really like about the DN1000 is the overall balance, yet it is still a 'fun' IEM.  To me:
 - it is detailed without having excessive brightness
 - it has a very nice mid-range without being too forward
 - it has slightly elevated bass (enough to make it very fun) without reaching 'bass-head'/overblown territory

It has far more soundstage than my B2 had.

Hope that helps.  For the money - I can't recommend the DN-1000 highly enough.  It plays with the big boys of the game - but at an affordable price point.

Hello Brooko,

May I know between Dunu DN-1000 ($195) and T-PEOS H-200 ($249),
which one is better in term of bass (solid, punchy, deep & extended) and the treble is just right (no ear fatigue) while maintaining or at least close to the detail, sound stage & separation like in DBA02-MKII?

I haven't heard the H200 - but if you look a few posts above this one - I'll requote H20 .......

I read somewhere that Dunu DN-1000 comes in 2 versions.

They are China version for domestic market and International version for export.

May I know what are the different between them?

For those sale on eBay, are they China version or International version?

ordered a pair. keeping the h200 since have no other cheap(er) earphones for the time being

Congrats mate, I really hope you enjoy them as much as myself and others are.

Brooko's review is right on the mark, the price to performance ratio is really rather high on these.
