Stopped by Best Buy today to check out the Uptowns. Totally agree with the above statement. They look and feel amazing. Super comfortable. They seemed to have pretty good isolation, but it's still very hard to tell on the sound in such a noisy environment. I was digging what I was able to hear though. I think I just might pick up a pair to try them out. I'll be sure to post impressions vs the HM5 and what not if I do.

They are on ear rather than over the ear though right?

Just got my brainwavz hm5s. They are amazing, using them with my v2.02 cmoybb the bass is definitely not lacking and that's with no eq and no bass boost on the cmoy. I am enjoying the treble on these more than my ath-es7s, everything seems to sound amazing.

I'm guessing that when Fischer Audio wholesales the rebadged FA-003 (HM5) it does not include the velour ear pads so as to justify the higher price for when they sell the FA-003?

Fischer doesn't create the FA-003, they get them from an OEM manufacturer, same as Brainwavz. Fischer simply decides to add them to the package, they aren't standard.

US store is $50, Australian is $79

Is there any reason to get the Brainwavz branded version? Or are those exactly the same? Does Brainwavs do anything to theirs at all? Tune it a little? Something like that?
