I like the phones a lot, but the biggest weakness, IMO, is the headband. Stiff and metallic, it isn't very comfortable. What I'd like to do is replace it with a headband like the HD650, with padding on top. Is this possible? Do you have any recommendations for compatible headbands?

You will find that most swivel the SA5000 slightly so that the black mesh is in contact with the crown of the head,in that position they are very comfortable.
 
Of course if you have a couple inches of hair it will not matter.
