Morgin, how do you play the film : vlc, mpc-hc.. ? Are they mkv file in 7.1 ? What is the audio configuration of the player (outputing 7.1 channels ?) , of windows playback device and of Hesivu whan you play the film ?

I use MPC HC, the movies are 7.1/5.1.

What about some improvised room treatment? Hang up blankets, put a matras somewhere, ...

You can make a border around your room with a rope. Then hang duvets, pillows, towels, even clothes from the wardrobe to dampen the reverb.

wow didn't think about putting clothes around the room, but wonder if i have enough of them, do acoustic panels work too? i heard that absorbs some kind of frequencies but they let the bass frequencies go....

Yes, but when i chose mine, the level is very low and the spatialization is very light, the atmos hrir give best results.

@musicreo the -2 target and increasing pre amp in EQ-APO has made a significant benefit to my HRIR. The rear sounds are much more clearer and overall clarity and positioning of sounds are much better
