Hey Head-Fi,
Before i was robbed, i owned a set of SoundMagic PL30s and developed a liking for the over ear position (the sound quality was okay). But since i no longer possess the SMs i'm looking at stepping it up a notch. i'm a little overwhelmed and confused on contradicting reviews, i suppose relating to personal preference.
i listen mainly to progressive style music, ie tool, isis, mars volta, cog, mastodon, radiohead, but as well more classic bands like hendrix, pink floyd, king crimson, zeppelin, all retaining many levels of instruments. what i'm looking for, or what i think i'm looking for, is an IEM that is fairly detailed, clear and not too coloured. also one with a decent sound isolation. all for the low price of $130 or less. i'm also looking at getting the cowon J3 32gb, once in eventually is released in the uk, if this helps in anyway.
any suggestions?
