Oh, Headamp has had their share of criticism; some no doubt fully deserved. But the point is ordering and receiving a custom BHSE electrostatic amp is nothing like ordering and receiving a GS-1.

True, that's a fair point.

What power amp is that? The eyes ain't what they used to be

Monarchy Audio SM-70 Pro .... 25 watt, single ended, zero feedback, discrete MOSFET, two gain stage, true Class A amp. This is a great sounding amp that works well with a passive or low gain active preamp and speakers with a 87db or higher sensitivity. My speakers were 91 db sensitivity and the amp could play VERY loudly.

Have a M^3 built to order. You choose the enclosure, parts, and PSU and it comes in somewhere around 1/2-2/3 your budget

The HeadRoom has a low, medium and high gain switch.

One HUGE bonus is that turnaround time is usually a week or two. That's one of the benefits of having more than one person running the whole gig.

The RSA HR-2 is a sweet sounding amplifier, it has enough power to handle the K701 or HD650 to insane levels, but IMO it truly shines with the W5000’s and the DT880’s.
Plus: Ray Samuels service is the best in my experience.

m3 with a steps or sigma11 would definitely do what you want. 7watts if you pick parts carefully. Fits in your space needs.
