I have tried 3 different sets of noise canceling iems, phonak, shure, and etymotics. All between 100 and 200 price range. They all sounded great as a step up from the basic apple headset that came with my iPhone, but were incredibly uncomfortable. I don't think my ears can take iems.

I also tried the Bose mie2i for iPhone and they were phenomenally comfortable, but sounded so bad that I had to return them. The Bose did not try to form a seal in my ear.

My question is, can anyone recommend a set that is not a seal forming set, but that has better sound than the stock apple earbuds? I'd like to stay under 200, maybe 300, but frankly it looks like all of the pricier offerings will be seal forming. Hopefully whatever you recommend will also have a mic ..

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
