Friend of mine also tried the Bose in-store and he said they sounded great with their setup ( whatever the amping is hidden there ), got them home and they sounded terrible, took them back right away. The Bose my folks have feels like a cheap toy.
I'd say AKG as stated above, but that model some folks say is a little harder to drive with a PMP. Do they let you try them out in store at all other than the Beats and Bose displays?, if so bring in your Ipod thingy to test them there.
Just do a ton of research ( that things burning a hole in your pocket isn't it )
The Yamaha RH10MS are rebranded Ultrasone HFI-450 's ( with the S-Logic ) by the way. Then you could save some $ for something else. OR try to get 2 complementary pairs.
The Senn HD598's sure look nice also.
But I'm checking the Canadian site.
