I need some new headphones for gaming, watching movies/tv shows, and also to block out my noisy apartment neighbors. I would also like some that will be comfortable for long gaming sessions. I have read the buyers guide but I thought you guys might be able to recommend something specifically from your experiences. Thanks in advance.

Koss SB40 is really cheap and great for gaming and movies. For blocking out sound though, Senn 280s.

jody452: I am not a big fan of Logitech Headsets. I bought one at Target for around $50 and they broke the first time I dropped them off my desk. They were not very comfortable to begin with.

What does $100 to $50 make a difference as far as headsets? You'll be getting a great headset for $50 and still have the extra fifty to spare buying the SB40's. For that price range you won't get much better imo.

Logitechs have the worse build quality ever tbh.
Logitech knows they have a crap reputation in the headphone market thus the acquirement of UE.

The SB40's are great for both your needs, and just because they are cheap doesnt mean they arent good. Also, with the extra money you can pick up a good mic, since the mic that comes witht the koss is aweful, and you could also buy some AKG 240 pads which will improve their bass and their comfort. As a worst case scenario, they will do you till you get some more money and can pick up some A900's or maybe even some darth beyers

D1001s blocking out sound? They don't, really. But they should be OK for neighbours.

Well, I ordered the SB40 and the Zalman mic from Amazon for $36. I will let you guys know how I like them. Will they be good with my onboard Motherboard or should I get a cheap sound card?

sound card would probably help a lot, even if it's not too expensive. most onboard sound sucks

My motherboard I have is the Abit NF-M2 nView. It has 7.1 channel HD audio w/ Realtek ALC883.
