reccomendation on new portable rig set up (dap emphasized)

hi all, i'm new to head fi, i'm planning to upgrade my portable rig, currently my dap is fiio x3, but i have read many review that gives thumbs up to CLAS which really tempted me to buy an ipod classic and CLAS -r to replace my x3 since i have alo audio rx3 mk-b+ which is great companion of the CLAS, but i'm also opened to options such as ibasso dx100 or iriver ak120, i have roughly heard about sound from dx100 half year ago and i'm quite like the sound.but i'm not sure whether it's worth it to spend more than (1k aud) for this, if u think it's worth it, which one will u recommend to me if mostly i listen to pop song especially korean pop, ur feedback is much appreciated

what do you not like about the X3 to want to change it so quickly?
what headphones do you use?
have you tried an external amp with the X3?

i'm using my jh5 primarily, i wish to change to higher end rig, might end up buying ipod classic with clas since i read a lot of review and all are positive feedback for that, and for now i only own alo rx3 mk-b+ as external amp
