I think what I really liked about it was it did not over reach as a lot of low buck scifiers do. It stayed well within it's limits and budget and was quite entertaining.

No cliffhanger, no b*llsh*t plot twist.. Like you said, it doesn't try to reach beyond its grasp. I like it very much. It introduced a premise and stayed with it. Thanks for the recommendation!

My pleasure. I wish there were more like that out there.

The Finest Hours - 5.5/10

The trailer didn't make me want to see it at all, but I went anyway. Thought it might be worth watching.
Wish I had skipped it.

How do they make a rescue movie be so dull? Not much suspense at all and the acting is rather bad.
Typical Disney type movie.

I just don't really like watching Disney movies anymore. Even their animated films are becoming very surficial and fluffy.

Terminus 7/10. Quite okay not sure how he understood exactly how that thingie worked and what it needed. A lot of question marks but well okay.

Now if I can just make time for Call Girl of Cthulhu, I am sure that is award winning material.

I think the thingie gave him some sort of specific clairvoyance - he doesn't exactly understand how it worked and what it needs, but he does it "for certain someone" (to avoid spoiler).

Looking forward to your thoughts!

Arrowhead (2015)       5/10

Middle of the road is where this one is at. Decidedly B Grade sci fi that really missed it's calling. Is it a Dystopia flic? Is it a new hope flic? Is it a creature feature? Is it an suspense/actioner?
Well, it tries to be all of the above at the same time and that is what makes it overly long and too fragmented to really enjoy. If they had concentrated on the central concept from the get go and not gone for the mystery suspense angle this would have played out a whole lot better. Much of the film is superfluous to the central concept which is really quite a brilliant turn on time dilation and it's use.

Watch this one if you have time :))) or if you just need relief from MockingMazeRunningintheFifth fare.

Still putting off Call Girl of Cthulhu.  Some films frighten even me off:wink:

Aww cummon mate. I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say we're waiting with bated breath for that particular review.

I'll do you a deal: if you watch that, I'll watch Splatter: Naked Blood, which has been sitting on my shelf for a while now.

Had no idea there was such a movie.
I'm a HUGE Lovecraft fan. I hope this isn't just more octopus porn.
I'm on a search now. Thanks a lot.

The Stanford Prison Experiment (2015): 8/10

Overlong, among other problems, but disturbing and engrossing enough to overcome its flaws.

Tried for a double feature by following this up with Trainwreck, but I just wasn't feeling that one, in spite of Tilda Swinton's presence.

I'm working my way up to it. Truthfully I have put off Naked Nuns with Big Guns for similar reasons:wink:
