OKAY, I TOOK ONE FOR HEAD-FI!
k1000smile.gif

I just put in a maximum bid for $450 and it says the reserve has been MET! THE RESERVE WAS $425!

I only have a Grado SR60, Ety4R-Ps and ton of IEMs and el cheapo headphones + a few Sony and Panny Noise Cancelling headphones.

So this would be my first Sennheiser.

I don't know how I am going to pay for it but I will.

Maybe I will get rid of some of my PCDPs for dirt cheap. D-EJ900, D-303, D-777, D-25S for dirt cheap anyone? LOL.

Hey I just got a D-EJ01 for $45, psych!

I wanna a Senn!

Thats a lot of $$$ for a HD435 based headphone.

The pictures of HD1000 on wooden stand are mine. Some of them must remember in Head-Fi thread about headphone stand. The seller stolen the photos from my list of Auction in Japan. I'm afraid it could be a SC*M......

Sorry Garrett, but I HAD to retract my bid after akira's comment.

I got suspicious and looked at the seller's (sirendj) feedbacks and he sells and buys WIGS, yes, women's hairpieces.

Why would someone who buys and sells wigs and clothing all of a sudden sell a $425 headphone.

Another lesson learned. Fellow Head-Fiers~ Caveat Emptor (buyer beware).

*BTW, what are your thoughts on these two auctions?

I don't mean to dispute the *possibility* of this auction being a scam, and I do think that the fact that the seller is usung somebody else's pictures seems somewhat suspicious, nevertheless I wonder whether this suspicion should translate into "THIS LISTING IS A SCAM!!!" written in big red letters as per post #1. Plus, in principle, I don't see any reason why a person who happens to sell wigs from time to time couldn't come accross a rare headphone that he doesn't need and wants to get rid of...

Just a thought...

I agree completely. Retracting a bid - based on suspicion - is one thing, but that red letter stuff and the forum court conviction is a little strong.

I've seen funny items sold all the time from someone who specializes in something else - people buy that way, too. There are a lot of people who would rather "borrow" someone else's photos to post. They may not have a decent digital camera, or even decent photo skills - especially compared to akira's fantastic shots. I don't like it, and will tend not to buy from someone when they do that, but the ebay headphone category has canned photos all the time.

Why not confront the seller and tell him someone told you they were his photos? Give 'em a chance to explain before you charge, convict, and hang in large-red-letter-bold on one of the biggest headphone forums on the Internet.

I´ve seen them on ebay in germany a few times. IIRC they were sold for 50$ at the most...

Wow guys, way to jump the gun.

Look at the guy's feedback. He's been an e-bay member for nearly a year and a half, his feedback is widely varied and doesn't look at all like B.S. to me, and if you look at the questions asked about the item, they're obvious frauds, to which he has responded with a bit of humour.

I also agree that it's ridiculous to call it a fraud just because he usually sells women's clothing. What if that is his business, but audio is his hobby?

I will agree that stealing someone else's pictures is a bit strange. I particularly like to see shots of the actual item so I can judge the condition. But that's something which is worth confronting him about directly if one is interested in the item.

If someone here is really very seriously interested, I am local in Vancouver, and would be pleased to try to call him / try to check the item out in person, as long as you ask him beforehand if he would be okay with an uninterested third party going to check out the item.

Also, I noticed the reason for bid retraction was "entered the wrong amount"... which I find would be reasonable if it came from a party who then re-bid the correct amount, but that doesn't seem to be the case here. "Concerned of fraud due to stolen pictures" would have seemed a lot more reasonable.
