Just get some NOS Mullard EL34 XF1/XF2 (well 6 of them for VM1a ) plus a NOS Mullard ECC35 and be done with it.Heheh! Tubes scare me.
Btw, @Aleksandar R. I just realized that the VM1a is no longer listed on the website. Does that mean that Raal is no longer selling it?

Ah yes, I have almost all of Chesky's binaural albums nothing beats them in spatial rendition. My favorites are Alexis Cole - A Kiss in The Dark, Macy Gray - Stripped, Casey Abrams both albums, and Melissa Menago - Little Crimes.Check out these binaural recordings... The SR1a reproduces them spectacularly!
You should also have a listen to Muddy Waters - Folk Singer. An old recording with fantastic reverb and sense of space. Not a binaural recording but spectacular sound quality for an album that's recorded in 1964.

The amps will continue to be available from our friends that will continue to make them.
It's just that we, as a headphone company, want to concentrate on dealing with headphones. For better focus on the matter.
Stay updated on RAAL 1995 at their sponsor profile on Head-Fi.

Though, it is not yet clear if they will continue with the VM as it is now.
There is the talk about SET with 300B driven by 300B that needs TI-1c if you want to use it for our headphones...
As with SAEQ, there are new developments going on, sound is evolving...

@Aleksandar R. would the TI-1C allow the SR1a to work with an amp that is about .5 watts? I would love to hear what the SR1a sound like with my Ampsandsound Kenzie Encore if that were possible.

I must admit I am surprised to hear that it is possible that the VM-1a will no longer be made...as one who loves the sr1a and ca-1a I just recently received the VM-1a and find it to be brilliant..hard to imagine it being much better so I wonder what alternatives could equal or better such a great direct drive
