Speaking of these things, well...binaural recordings are the real deal, which reminds me...

I have just contacted a true gentleman and a friend, Andrea Ricci from Spirit Torino.
Among other things, he is also a very accomplished recording engineer that recorded some really interesting binuaral recordings that I've been enjoying very much!

So, by courtesy of Andrea Ricci of Spirit Torino, I was given permission to share with you the following links to download some of his binaural recordings for free:

Sacra di San Michele, Coro di Staffarda, canto gregoriano, (24/192):

Sick of waiting Aleksandar. If you can just post me a CA1A to Australia that'd be much appreciated. K thanx.

Soon, quite soon!
Just getting the final touches right with the pads and then making a shipment to Danny next week, I hope.
Pretty much, now it's in the hands of our vendor companies that provide us with services of cutting FR4 and memory foam.
Our luck is such that whenever we make an order, there's always some large ongoing job on their rosters, but I'm pushing things as much as possible.
I guess there will be unsold units from the first pilot run after Chicago Canjam, so you can order that from Danny and I'll send you the new pads once done.
Danny is in Chicago now, so I don't think he'll be answering e-mails before Tuesday (doing the show alone is very exhausting), but David is there to confirm you that they received the e-mail...

The gap is too low, at the height of ear canal.
I did try them with glasses and it felt really good. The foam is very pliable, conforms to shapes really well, plus, the lateral clamping pressure is not large.
They feel great with glasses.
Update - at least for my head, the gap aligns perfectly with the arms of my glasses. Update - discussed with Aleksandar and he explained I'm likely wearing them too high if my glasses arms are passing through the gap. Adjusted accordingly and agree with his statement.

Hi @Aleksandar R. - I have a TI-1a en route to me right now. I'm very much looking forward to hearing it with my new SR1a and my amps.

Apart from my two solid state headphone amps, I also have a SET amp, a Donald North Audio Stratus, which provides 1.8W into 50 ohms and 900mW into 100 ohms. I assume it'll provide enough power but I would be grateful if you could confirm this or offer any comments about the suitability of SET amps for the TI-1a, please.

It's wonderful that there are now so many options for driving the SR1a.

I'm also curious about whether the TI-1a works well with the LCD-R. @deafenears, how has your experience been?
This post is related to measurements of the CA-1a and not the SR-1a.

In regards to Stratus, here is some insight having them now at home with my Stellaris.
Using a 2v output from dac, with a 0 dbfs signal I'm able to achieve 80db on my meter with the volume set at what I call 5m.

This is indicated by the 5 under the word Volume on the DNA amp.

Using XLR output from the DNA into the TI-1a - 32ohm input.

Picture added for clarity

Thank you for this, I very much appreciate the information and you taking the time to share it.

This is all heartening: I see from the DNA website that the Stratus and Stellaris both output the same power, and my DAC has as its maximum output 2.0V RMS.

I look forward to trying out the SR1a from the Stratus. Here's wishing you happy listening! Thanks again.

I think it applies for the CA1a, the SR1a seems a bit more demanding.
Yes, I absolutely missed this critical aspect. I'm referencing the new CA-1a, not the SR-1a. I don't have those available to me to provide a reference. My apologies. I've since updated my original post to clarify.

To add some numbers to this, because of the SR1 OB compensation, you'll need to crank it up for about 4dB compared to CA1, to get roughly the same sound pressure level.

Build quality and weapons grade polycarbonate. Driving a Mazda CX-30 forth and back over the headphone cup.
This was a significant risk! It was a good way to slash a tyre if the cup breaks!
Video is better, but I can post only GIF here:

No question about durability and I like that sand-blasted appearance, looks fairly scuff and scratch resistant. Should keep its good looks for a long time.

It looks alright to me. The foam part is not pretty but as someone told me, the RAAL headphones are not meant for taking selfies with.
