Has anyone tried the SRH1A with the Bakoon AMP-13R speaker amp?
great combo, best HP I have ever heard but i would say the DAC in the Jotr isnt up to the quality of the HP

Yeah, the Benchmark DAC will be better. I have the JotR too, and the included DAC is not very good.I could possibly feed from my Benchmark dac? what do you folks think? I think I'll be playing but that's down the road some, I just want some of that ribbon candy.
Although convenient to just plug in the laptop in the Jot R dac. I quite enjoy the dac stillgreat combo, best HP I have ever heard but i would say the DAC in the Jotr isnt up to the quality of the HP
I own the 13r, I use the jotr with the sr1a...the 13r might work but really isnt powerful enough to be the solutionHas anyone tried the SRH1A with the Bakoon AMP-13R speaker amp?
Why not powercycle a device multiple times within a few seconds:Why's that?
Just to baseline the JotR is very good at its price point but the modest Vidar and aegir were both qualitatively better and it only goes up from there as the much more expensive cary 120 I'm using is significantly better than either of the three. The transparency of the sr1a really shines as you move up the amp ladder.
Now before I hear it, the JotR is great in that it can get you started quickly at a price point. Nothing wrong just has that crunch that causes me fatigue after 30-40 minutes.
interestingly I find that I am less fatigued Listening to the sr1a with the jotr than I am with the abyss tc or susvara due to lack of cupping effect.....I am open to listening to potentially better amps but afraid if I like what I hear I will buy it lolJust to baseline the JotR is very good at its price point but the modest Vidar and aegir were both qualitatively better and it only goes up from there as the much more expensive cary 120 I'm using is significantly better than either of the three. My home office is running out of space fast. I can't afford to listen to and like a speaker amp. Just have to stick with the Jot R. Of course I could get another rack.
Great question and one I can't answer directly from experience. How does the Cary 120 compare to the RAAL HSA-1b?
Just picked up this bad boy. Thanks for the link - me likey a lot! Seemingly, it was made for the SR1a!
