Has anyone tried the SRH1A with the Bakoon AMP-13R speaker amp?

I could possibly feed from my Benchmark dac? what do you folks think? I think I'll be playing but that's down the road some, I just want some of that ribbon candy.
Yeah, the Benchmark DAC will be better. I have the JotR too, and the included DAC is not very good.

I own the 13r, I use the jotr with the sr1a...the 13r might work but really isnt powerful enough to be the solution

Why's that?
Why not powercycle a device multiple times within a few seconds:

The high inrush current that charges the capacitors from zero to full, heats up the rectifier diodes and other electronic parts.
If you repeat this process several time in a row within a very short time the relevant parts don't have the chance to cool down inbetween, and finally might overheat.

Just to baseline the JotR is very good at its price point but the modest Vidar and aegir were both qualitatively better and it only goes up from there as the much more expensive cary 120 I'm using is significantly better than either of the three. The transparency of the sr1a really shines as you move up the amp ladder.

Now before I hear it, the JotR is great in that it can get you started quickly at a price point. Nothing wrong just has that crunch that causes me fatigue after 30-40 minutes.

How does the Cary 120 compare to the RAAL HSA-1b?

Jason Stoddard commented that he felt the Jot R was better than the Vidar, Aegir. I am planning on purchasing a speaker amp for my home office, and was planning on mono block Aegir's. However they aren't recommended for 4 Ohm loads. Doesn't the resistor box present a 4 Ohm load?

interestingly I find that I am less fatigued Listening to the sr1a with the jotr than I am with the abyss tc or susvara due to lack of cupping effect.....I am open to listening to potentially better amps but afraid if I like what I hear I will buy it lol

My home office is running out of space fast. I can't afford to listen to and like a speaker amp. Just have to stick with the Jot R. Of course I could get another rack.

Mine was too...bought a new house. :p

Can't wait for 2 more weeks before I can hook up my gear once again (and 2 months of being boxed up).
