I just bought this 3 pack, I thought the Samsung charger was supposed to be 3.0 quick charge, but I don't see the cymbal on it. So we shall see if these work.

I'm having a weird issue about charging R5. If I use my Samsung S10e's charger, it will charge for just a second and will stop. If I connect it to my computer or powerbank via USB cable, it is charging fine. Seems like I can only charge my R5 via USB cable with computer/powerbank. Is this similar to the "fast charging" issue you are having @abitdeef ?
It seems that the R5 has some trouble with quick charging. You can charge it just fine using a regular 5V fast charger (2.1A or even more would be just fine, as long as it's 5V). I was going to post the chargers HiBy tested in their qualcomm QC quick charge testing, but I was embarrassed by the fact that all they'd ever tested were Chinese smartphone charger brands...

So does it support quick charge 3? Or should I cancel my order?

Why not adopt Power Delivery as standard charging?

- Looks like the Snapdragon 425 SOC has capability of QC 2.0 (Not 3.0). But only if implemented...
- Specifications for the R5 say it supports QC 3.0 ....
- Joe says it only supports 5V charging up to 2.1 Amp...

Unsure if firmware might enable QC 2.0, or QC 3.0. @Joe Bloggs would have to let us know...

(FYI, QC 2,0 and QC 3.0 both allow maximum of 18 watt charge rates. Even though QC 3.0 allows up to 20 volts, and QC 2.0 only allows up to 9 Volts. Charging amps are limited @ 20V with QC 3.0)

For now Joe says it's limited to 10 watt (5v @ 2 Amp) charging rates. . So the QC 3.0 chargers won't make faster charging... but a 2.1A 5V charger is faster than a PC's USB 2.0 and 3.0 ports.

USB 3.0 is 0.9A @ 5v = 4.5 watts max
USB 2.0 is 0.5A @ 5v = 2.5 watts max

Great, why the hell was it advertised as quick charge 3?

I'm not saying it doesn't support QC3.0 . Just that the capability may not have been tested as thoroughly as it should have been. But as others have remarked, the Samsung chargers that are failing don't actually have the QC3.0 logo marked on them so I don't know if it's an incompatibility on our or their end...

To be exact, the fast chargers that have been tested with the R5 in-house so far are as follows:
Huawei HW-059200CHQ
LeEco EQ-24BCN
UGreen CD122

I use a Samsung charger that came with my US variant of the Galaxy S10E and it charges quickly.

These are pics of mine which acts like it will charge for a split second and then it doesn't. It charges the phone fast, but it's obviously not 3.0. Right now I'm using a 2.5 amp 5v belkin charger which charges fairly fast.
