Yep that sure looks like leather on the edges of the openings. The dye didn't cover as much because it's blue. Poly would have uniform colour on those cutout edges.

I thought they were leather, I could smell the tannin right out of the package. That makes it a pretty good deal for 25 and some change. Especially when I paid 80 dollars for my ak sr15 case that was poly.

I bought my R5 two weeks ago in a trip to California and British Columbia, I ordered it from Amazon, and pick it up in San Diego. I am using it mainly with my travel earphones, the campfire commet, and the match is surprisingly good, I can listen them for ours, without getting tired. I like the sound of the R5. Next week when I return to Chile, I will compare it with the SR-15. I am surprised of the sound, and the performance of this DAP

Can you give us a hint if it's coming soon?
I'd just give the usual "when it's done" favored by devs but if it's already done in house... :)

With those 4 letters I know you have exquisitely good taste.

Yes Rush is my jam and being from Toronto I grew up with these guys. They played at my high school shortly after they formed the group (yes I am that old :)). Even then you knew these guys were going to be something special.

Just got mine yesterday and oh my it sounds incredible-especially balanced. I am confused about the filter choices. Any suggestions? Am currently using "fast rolloff & low latency".

Best thing to do is just try them all, the changes are subtle but they are there. Generally the sharp/fast roll off has a bit more pronounced treble while the slower have are a bit more warmer.

I'm using the second one fast rolloff / compensated.
