Yes, I get that too. Okay, I'm just thinking that the processor could be a little quicker, and that's the culprit. But it happens infrequently, and really isn't much of an issue at all.I've noticed this with mine too - when I'm pressing the screen multiple times in quick succession (like when tapping the MSEB sliders across), the screen seems to do a quick flash of whatever the primary colour of the screen happens to be at that time, then goes back to normal

It is unavoidable for there to be discontinuity in the sound from the DAC when the sample rate of the data stream to it changes. Are the files actually different in sample rate, or does it only jump to a different momentarily between the two songs before settling to the same rate again?Yes, it only happens when the sample rate changes. Do you know what's exactly happening?

If you use the UAPP app on the R5, did you have trouble purchasing the PEQ plugin from Toneboosters? When I enable PEQ, it informs me that it requires a separate purchase, but when I press the “purchase” button, nothing happens.
EDIT: Never mind, works after a restart.

For what it's worth, my R5 (1st gen) originally came from Ali Express and I was able to download Google Play Store.

New Head-Fier
I had a glitch yesterday while playing downloaded music from Amazon. in mid song the player froze so I did a soft reboot and at that time the r5 was constantly checking for the micro SD card without success. I purchased a replacement card because I figured the card was corrupted. I am now unable to install the new card as a shared storage device. When I do the internal storage becomes loaded and nothing seems to load on the SD card. The only way it seems to work is if I format the card as internal shared storage.

Joe--Thanks for this info.HiBy's Aliexpress is selling international version units. As are all official HiBy distributors and retailers outside of China.
Should I safely assume that if I purchase an R5 Saber from, say, MusicTeck out of New Jersey, that it will be the international version?

Hi, it's been about a month since I got my R5S from hiby directly, since then I'm quite satisfied with my purchase, coming from a Fiio x3k. However, I'd like to point out 3 issues that I hope some of you guys can give some input.
1. Last full charge misreading: the first day I received my dap I went through the updates until 1.83 (I think the dap arrived with 1.62 fw installed) and a couple of days after I first fully charged the device. Days after I noticed that even after 2/3 charge cycles up to 100%, whenever I went to the battery section in settings it would show that the last full charge was the day I first booted up the dap. I did the update to 1.92 and it was still showing that the last full charge was the day I received the dap (20 days or so). I've performed a full reset and this issue still persists thus I have no way of keeping track of my battery usage after the last charge.
2. Display issues with hiby music app: I've noticed this twice after I performed the full reset due to issue no 1. When I'm scrolling and navigating through folders or going back from now playing display to folder browsing the screen goes blank with vertical lines for less than a second, this seems to happen within the app as the notification bar displays correctly.
3. Previous/Next buttons: This may be more of a suggestion than an issue. Currently the Next button is the one below the play/pause button. Since the play/pause icon is oriented upwards the player I think the next button should be the one above the play/pause button. This gave me some trouble at first.
