Quloos QA390

It's been up and running 24/24. Ive never been a big believer in burn in phase and it's probably my mind playing me some tricks but I find the QA390 a less agressive on the treble now. Which is a good thing as my first impressions were that the treble was a bit too forward and intense for me.
No matter what the causes are (burn in or my mind) but I'm much happier with the result now...

I've just received my LPGT back from Lotoo, so I'll do some comparisons with the 220Max, the LPGT, the QA361 and the QA390 when I have more time.

To be continued...

Save you the time - Qa390 will win :):):)
Already did with many others include Sp2000, Cowon L.... and Qa361.
The QA361 is so close - just the stage a little smaller.

Ahah we'll see.

One clear advantage for the QA390 against the QA361 is the memory for sd card. Once you've booted on a sd card, the futures boots are sôooo fast now that the OS keeps the folders info in memory. The boot sequence is always the painful part when I use the QA361, it's great to see that it's been corrected on the QA390 !

Man, this is a hell of a DAP collection!!!

I think I asked you a few weeks ago if you could tell me how the Calyx M fairs (soundwise) against the AK SP2k (and the R2R2k) ... well, and all the others including the QA390 of course! would be very nice to hear your thoughts. 😁

Well ..... i sold the Calyx, and i sold the R2R and the SP2000 .... :sunglasses: and have the Sp1000m for sale... i think that conclude the Q? :):)
I think that the Sp2000 is really good player - its just have a different presentation , nothing bad to say. I just love more bigger front stage which the 361 and even more the 390 have.

All of them are great - Calyx has his magic too and the R2R is also excellent , for some - the usability and features will override the SQ.
I have friends here that prefer more intimate stage and front vocals so it is just a meter of personal taste.
I use WAV with both QA for others - they dont want to deal with conversion...
Calyx for 550$ with the second battery is a catch, if it was priced as the time it was out for 1.2K it is a different thing.
R2R is small but lack physicals buttons - so no pocket.
Sp2000 is perfect but 3.5K$ ..... and small buttons
So for portable - 361 is a winner (if you dont need stream), powerful , fast and sound amazing. The Qa390 is even better sounding , more powerful and has all the other features that no need to repeat.

My QA361 is playing music within about 3 seconds of turning it on; that's fast enough for me.

Mine will scan the sd card at each boot, I'll try to re install the firmware

That's my setting.... And it's weird because when I change to Pause for example, it comes back to Auto at the next reboot... Tried this in 3 different fw...

Another idea maybe: I have all my music folders on the root of the sd card, so roughly 450 folders. Maybe if can create 1 folder Music at the root, and then place all the music folders within this folder ?

Or my unit is defective on this part...
