Quiet Sempron machines?

Thanks for the advice, unfortunately nobody with Sempron 3000 (or higher) has posted first-hand. I'm probably going to dive in and go for it. I'll post my opinions of it if I do.

As far as the overclocking goes, been there, done that (K6 200 @ 233, Celeron 300a @ 504, Celeron 566 @ 900). It was great when I had no money and played games. I was pulling around a 50% speed boost for free, but you don't get the same relative increase today. My advice - if stability is important to you, don't bother, it takes a lot of time and good cooling design to get a system to its limits and keep it stable.

As far as the stress argument goes - the overclocking conditions (FSB over spec, cpu & agp voltage over spec) killed my Abit BX6-2's northbridge eventually. Luckily, I never actually cooked a chip to death.
