Hey guys, one my friend need help. He would like to buy dac/amp for his future Unique Melody Merlin, he wish no hum from it and quality sound. He wants it smaller and with USB, he will play via notebook. If spdif, no problem he will buy m2tech hiface. And the budget is $500 - $1000. Thanks for recomendations.

If you don't need optical in, consider iBasso D4.
Guys I thought something quality. For example quality DAC with compromise headphone amplifier in one or something lilke Gilmore X2. Ibasso, Centrance, Pico etc. I do not know if he would be satisfied with it. I tried Pico in past with JH13 and I was not happy. I highly recomended him one two highend dacs in $1000 which can drive headphones and he do not want it because it is bigger.
