Qobuz Lossless Streaming Service Thread

For now I'll stick to UAPP.
Good idea. Their android app is teh suck. I only deal when forced to and when managing offline content, which barely works when you have over 20 albums DL'd.

My fav behavior is the Wifi time out for your offline content. "ITS OFFLINE, IDIOTS", stop waiting for my Wifi to respond before you failover. Offline should be siloed. Tally up the play counts to a text file and upload that when WiFi is available again, or whatever the hell you're trying to do.
Otherwise, and through UAPP, a great streaming service. Sounds great, but... superfluous animations are the bane of my existence.

Studio Sublime went down to $179.99. That shopping cart I've been building for 8 months might finally get purchased.

That's on par with Apple Music. BTW could I have my refund?

Got the email today with the subject line "New Pricing" and thought it was going to be a price increase. Nope! I think this was the first time I've received and email from a service about lowering the price without me negotiating with them, like I used to have to do when I had cable TV.

How is Qobuz these days? I'm very happy with TIDAL, but was thinking of subscribing to Qobuz to run both in parallel as the annual subscription cost is a fairly good deal at the moment. Is Qobuz on desktop bit-perfect to an external DAC? And how about the mobile apps?

I just need to get a general feel for how good Qobuz is, particularly for those who currently run both TIDAL and Qobuz.

A feature similar to TIDAL Connect would be really handy too.

A free trial will help you to decide.

Who else is enjoying the personalized playlist Qobuz provides every Friday? They've only been slightly off on suggestions for me so far, and I like about 95% of what they pick.

Still a bit wonky for me, and they don't include artists that have newly released, I've listened to a bunch, AND have in my favorites. Still have to go hunt for that stuff manually.
It's nowhere to be found. I think Qobuz may not offer it, and then I find it buried.
It is moving in the right direction. Maybe it'll get smarter with time? But if they can't show you stuff you already like, how can they determine what you might like?

I have not had a good start to taking out a subscription with Qobuz again (free month trial and then yearly plan). I have an account with Qobuz as I have bought hundreds of songs from the Qobuz Store over the last couple of years, and paid by PayPal manually for those purchases.

On the subscription page, I get the following:

fIyJITL.jpg

There's no payment method set up and there's no way to set up a payment method! Has anyone had this issue before and managed to resolve it? The only way I can think of is to log out and use another email address, but that's not convenient for me.

[EDIT] Logging out and logging back in again gets rid of that payment error message!

I am trialing several streaming services with my new SR25. Tidal is out-MQA sounds "bad" to my ears, and I prefer my own V0 LAME MP3s in terms of true fidelity.

I am liking Deezer, but the gapless sometimes does a click noise that should not be there at all. Talking FLACs. Nothing should be audible. They should tackle it, and not be defensive about it (as in claiming the problem does not exist.)

Now was enjoying QOBUZ immensely this evening but I am unable to import albums for offline listening. Trial 12.99 subscription. I listen to a lots of classical as a violinist, but also a lot of non classical. The classical library seems pretty good so far-better or almost equal than the others. But this importing for offline listening issue is killing QOBUZ for me. Is it a bug or user error? And said "user error" is perhaps due to lack of clarity within the app? I was seriously considering QOBUZ, and now I only know I hate Tidal.

Anyone knows of this issue, or is this a regular stumbling block for newbies that has a hidden "simple" solution?

The arrow next to the heart is greyed out and non responsive. The import quality option on the three dots menu is also non responsive (you choose quality, but no importing happens.)

This is very different with the way offline albums are handled in Amazon HD, Deezer, and Tidal. Much easier, with a press of an icon. If anyone can help, please do.

Be well, and stay safe.

I would recommend uninstalling, reboot, and re-install the application from their link. The only issue I've had with their default app is it was spiking the CPU occasionally (Windows 10, i5 6 core, 2.8ghz), and when that happened it would "glitch" the sound a bit. If after you re-install you're still having the issue, contact their support. They're usually very supportive and fairly quick to respond.

Thank you. Indeed I uninstalled and reinstalled the Sept. 13 release, and I was able to import albums normally afterwards.

Only issue is the importing can be a bit glitchy. Sometimes it does not download the whole album tracks, others it downloads and does not appear in the offline library. Still figuring the software out. Appears slower/"glitchier" than the other options. I do want it to work because otherwise in theory I like Qobuz very much. Hoping for the best!

Unfortunately, I cannot make the bug of some albums not registering as offline content go away. I keep deleting and re-importing and they still do not ever appear there unlike the other few albums I have managed to import successfully (as intended.) I can get to them through favorites, but this is obviously not right, and likely a software issue. The wifi connection is fine.

The importing in general feels cumbersome and "hard" compared to all other apps with this feature I have tried. As I said before, an apparent lack of effort by the people in charge of the software/app may have Qobuz lose subscribers. Maybe their effort is indeed high, but not their expertise. I am very sorry to sound so harsh, and have no personal issues with them.

My support ticket has not been answered, though of course it is only about 20 hours old, so I should be more patient.

In short, the importing of albums issue is gone, but a)some successfully imported albums do not appear as offline content and b)there are multiple downloading errors in which not all album tracks get imported, or sometimes register as imported but they are really not (you find out later when offline that indeed they were not imported as claimed, then they disappear from the album list.)

Not given up on Qobuz, but it certainly leaves a bad impression.
