QDC - Discussion and Impressions Thread

Hi, Rush here to interrupt your VXjerking and let everyone know. There are infinite ways to enjoy your qdc VX, but turning any of the switch on is not the way. Remember kids, V-shaped is a sin, leave the switches off.

Thank you for reading this PSA by Rush, please save your ears from bloated BA bass and ear piercing treble by turning all the switches off.

Sometimes I'm not sure if you're meming or not...but...I quite like both the bass and treble switches on...I find it neither bloated nor ear-piercing. It allows me to tap in to my inner bass-head without ruining the mids.

bass and treble on is my favourite setting so far. perfect for my taste of mostly pop, rap, and edm :)

Same man. Every so often I'll turn the bass switch off but I always wind up turning it on again. They have the balance just right to provide a bit of mid-bass thump without bleeding or overshadowing the mids.

@Rockwell75 https://www.head-fi.org/threads/qdc-discussion-and-impressions-thread.804170/page-55#post-15017622

I posted this a while back, tho I'm more proud of my rant that piss off all the V3 owners...

think you should try the Fearless Y2K?

I understand your passionate rant. Personally, the switches saved me when i got bored of its close-to-neutral tuning. currently enjoying [011]

Got any recs for someone looking for a bigger soundstage, airier highs, and DD bass? Ive been looking into the Valkyrie.

The Legend X? Beyond that what you're looking for might not exist yet. I've heard the Valkyrie can't touch the VX in terms of overall sound quality. What's your source?

had it. sold it. regretted selling. but want more in the treble.

m11 for now, will also change that eventually. either m15 pro. any recs on source?

I found the M11 very clinical sounding and lacking in bass. I use the Cayin N6ii which I think sounds great with the VX (though I know @OverlordRush would disagree)-- it adds a bit of meat to the lower end which to my preferences is always welcome.

All switches off, always. If bass is priority then there are other iems that do it million times better. One of the VX strength is in its impecable balance in default configuration and I don't want to ruin that with bloat BA bass.

Maybe, but I doubt they would also have the depth of stage, detail, clarity and resolution of the VX.

There are other iems that beat it handily in each category but all together? Yeah, the VX is still hard to beat. For example, the Shure KSE is better than the VX at everything in that list except soundstage. I would still get the VX over it though if I have to choose only one iem. Not that the KSE bass is great.

I've never seriously considered the KSE because l loathe the idea of carrying yet another little black box around with me. I've tried a considerable number of great IEMs recently and the VX definitely takes top spot as an all-rounder, which is fundamentally what I'm after. To be fair I admit the "switches off" is the best configuration at the end of the day...it's just nice to be able to flip the switch and get a little bass kick every now and again. I still marvel at how good the VX bass is for a BA.

I like all switches off. Bass is too bloated for my taste with the bass switch on.

Fellow believer of the one true VX tuning!

Switch off, caps on!

PURGE THE NONE BELIEVERS!!!
