I also quite like this band, new to me before being posted a couple of weeks ago (Nightscape), I tried this, but only got a couple of tracks in as it seemed dangerously close to smooth jazz!! Instead I tried a previous offering ‘Guiding Light’ which is really excellent. I will try ‘core’ again when I’m in the mood.

On other recs from above:

Quantum Fantay
Lespecial - Cheen
Rodrigo Flores  (though other offerings by same artist are somewhat varied (maybe multiple artists of same name?)
Soft Ffog
Lars Fredrik Frøislie

Maestro (2025) by Magic Pie - Just dropped today and on my second playthrough I can safely say I very much like it. Classed as symphonic-prog (not sure about that) this Norwegian band certainly seem to be able to put a good album together, the other five albums they've released are worth a listen too. Listening on Qobuz so should be on the other streamers too.

I just came across these guys a few weeks ago! I think I rec'd the first album of theirs that I listened to called Nightscape at the time, but I'm not sure if I did it here, in the which headphone thread, or in both. I had no idea that they had new music coming out so thanks for the heads-up. 👌

I've really enjoyed making my way through their discography recently and I can't wait to hear what they've done with this new one. Each of their albums has it's own unique blend of styles such that no two albums sound the same, though they carry some common musical and songwriting DNA. They're pretty prolific so if you haven't checked out the rest of their work, I'd highly recommend it. 😎

The debut album from Cosmic Cathedral is really solid.

Yep, I started listening to it last night, it's excellent - it should be mind, with the pedigree of the lineup (Neal Morse, Chester Thompson, Phil Keaggy.)

[and to get round the stupid posting restrictions]

A Long And Sad Way To The Pines (2025) by Hazard - A new French band I heard thanks to a ROON recommendation. I've only listened to it once but was very impressed. They play a mix of prog and prog-metal, varied songs, good musicianship and English vocals - what's not to like. Listening on ROON/Qobuz so I expect it to be on the other streamers too. I looked on Bandcamp but could only find their single.

I just came across this album today. It's an interesting proggy blend of styles. It's got everything from jazz/fusion to the tradition sounds of the guitarist's Armenian heritage. Definitely worth a spin, IMO. 😎

Edit: I also am finally getting around to checking out Steve Dadaian's new album from a couple weeks ago. Some damn good prog-metal with symphonic elements here and there. It's a solid album and a great follow-up to his debut which I only came across last year sometime. 🤘😎

Another interesting instrumental prog album released in the last couple weeks. This one is by a UK guitarist/composer going by the name Zokasso. Definitely worth a spin. 🤘😎

The Orphan Epoch (2025) by Cosmograf - Dropped today, neo-prog from multi-instrumentalist (and vocalist) Robin Armstrong. I bought it as soon as I got the email from Bandcamp, which is just as well because it's not yet showing up on Qobuz. Couldn't link it from Bandcamp as it hasn't been set up even though it's there, just no linky.
