Oops, totally missed that! I’m barely on Head-Fi these days, and keeping up with your album recommendations is starting to feel like a full-time job, lol.

LOL I do get an incredible amount of listening in while out on the road. Don't worry though, in a few weeks I'll be home for a couple months and things will definitely be slowing down a bit. That Soft Ffog album is going on my Album of the Year Contenders list.

I'm listening to that Frøislie album as we speak and it's damn good. If it keeps up at this level, it may actually edge out his last album and that's no easy feat. Thanks again for colling my/our attention to it. 🙏😎

Hey don’t raise expectations too high or I’m just going to be disappointed. That last album of his was definitely one the albums of 2023 so a lot to live up to. One for tomorrow for me that, looking forward to it.

I haven’t seen this one posted so I’m going to put it up here. I love the laid back vintage vibe of this release- there’s a lot of color in the music as it bounces between vintage prog, psych, post and jazzy passages with some really tasteful guitar playing going on as well. Check it out-

Dude, this sounds really promising from the sample tracks so its going in the queue. Thanks for the rec! 👍

To keep things topical, I'll put of the prog-metal band I'm currently enjoying. These guys have a new album coming out on the 31st of this month and I pre-ordered it tonight. Listening to the single they've released from it made me want to hear their debut and only LP to date. It's damn good, too. 🤘😎

The Mountain (rel. 2022) by Eye of Autumn

Edit: to @dacwizard: There was no overhyping here. The album is really that good, IMO. Definitely let me/us know what you think. 🙏

I ended up really diggin' this and I've got more of his albums lined up for checking out. Thanks again, man! 😎

Last night a stumbled across an album I'm really enjoying by a German band named Briscon. They released a compilation of a bunch of their instrumental releases at the end of last year and it's pretty damn good. Apparently it covers quite a long period during their career and I'm only about halfway through, but it has instrumental prog and prog-metal tracks of so many different styles that it's hard not to have fun listening. It's a 25 track, 2 hour long behemoth, but I would highly recommend checking it out even if you need to do it in pieces. 👌😎

I had the same thing in mind for today as it’s going to break 100 degrees outside! Last night I was having difficulty tracking down his other stuff through Qobuz but hope to find more today.

Observer (2021) by Human Factor - Most recent release by this Russian band. The music is a mix of psychedelic, space rock and prog rock with a bit of post rock in there too. It chugs on nicely with dual guitars, spacey keyboards and a solid rhythm section. Sadly it's not on Qobuz and don't know about the other streamers but their albums are all available on Bandcamp - I couldn't resist and bought their discography :D

I finally got around to giving this a listen, liked what I heard and am now going through the rest of their discography :L3000:
I got to see them a few years back and really liked their sound. The Ozric-ness is unmistakable, but they apply plenty of their own sound to make it stand alone quite nicely.
