Did anyone else pick up on the familiar sounds of albums past in "Messiah Complex"? I hear tributes to Affinity and The Mountain. Cockroach King for sure.

This album has technical mastery. I really do like it for its genius badass grooves and complex rythms, but haven't yet got goosebumps from emotional melodies ala "Veil" from their Vector album.

Very happy with this release !

2020 is a very good year for prog rock, here is one of favourites albums. Vulkan is a Swedish heavy prog band and their last album " Technatura" is very good one. The album has a good transition between heaviness and psychedelic, it's very dynamic and very organic, not too complicated. I would say that there are some similarities with Karnivool, but Karnivool is more to alternative and linear but Vulkan is more psychedelic and it has more deep atmosphere.

Just listened to it! Wow wooow! I like it very much after 1st listen. :gs1000smile:
Very well put together, improvement in their technique. And the production is top-notch. Crisp and clean and transparent. (HD6XX / FiiO Q5s)

Listening to it now. Was planning to pick it up along with Yorushika's new album next week but couldn't resist the wait. Really enjoying and agree on the production as well. Edit: Damn that transition from Marigold to The Sect, sweeeeet!!!!!

Speaking of which, I know they're not technically Prog Rock but their albums are concept albums so hopefully they're not too out of place here. But I've been really into Yorushika, their new album will be out next week. But this is one of my favourite song of theirs.

My favorite band. Not a huge band at all, but it kicks so much ass. Rishloo.

Love Rishloo, Feathergun's one of my favourite album all time. Somehow, while I don't love Tool (though I do enjoy them), I tend to really love bands that tend to be labeled as Tool like such as Rishloo and Karnivool.

New Haken is pretty great, but looks like we cannot have a decent week in 2020...

RIP Tim Smith.

If you ever wondered where many of the current proggers got some of their weirder inspirations - check out Cardiacs

I remember picking the vinyl up of this in the late 1980s for $1.

24bit remaster sounds pretty great. The musicianship on this is staggering! IMO......also production!

Currently ripping all my Rush Vinyl reissues from Sean Magee, 2015. As I spend time listening, I am amazed by their work.
Its extraordinary and to think 3 people were able to pull it off live, is very telling of just how off the charts these guys were at their craft..
When the dust settles and their music is studied similar to some older bands back catalog, there will be no denying that people will be blown away.I already see this from the very many Rush reaction videos on YouTube. Rush!!!!!
