EPIC RELEASES Early 1970's Rock/Metal. (under the radar)
Blue Oyster Cult: "On Your Feet or On Your Knees" (one of best live metal records ever made)
Lucifer's Friend: self entitled debut album (hard to find but sensational german metal band debut record. Worth every penny if you can find)
UFO: "Lights Out" (Metallica before there was Metallica)
Frank Marino and Mahagany Rush: "Live" (Hendrix clone was a great talent...loudest concert I ever attended and it was OUTDOOR)
Montrose: "Montrose" (the debut album...a short 35 minutes but 8 great songs. The 2nd release, Paper Money was equally good IMHO.)
Scorpions: "In Trance" (then "Love Drive" came a few years after....both Must Haves...)

Peter Hammill's album "Singularity" is superb.....and may be a good starting point for those new to VGG.... . sounds so good!
On a somewhat related point, David Bowie's last album "Blackstar" is similar territory and very good;
I think one of his best.

A fantastic band with a unique twin lead guitar sound. Their debut album is great too but Argus reigns supreme; one of the great classic early 70s 'British Rock' albums. A golden era
Two under the Radar British bands. On the lighter side of Prog in the main but definitely worth looking into IMO. Messengers' 1st album was better than their new 'signed' Album to me but it's early days on their new effort :-

A very good album indeed!
I prefer the instrumental version of the 2CD edition. The impeccable technique shines through the instrumental version.
This band can benefit from a better vocalist. The vocals are a bit linear and lack personality.

First, I agree. Album of the year, and by a large measure. These guys are amazingly adept at the language of contemporary Prog. Part of it reminds of what Asia could have sounded like if they didn't totally suck *****.
Second, the vocalist is amazing! He's not trying to be a SINGER, and it sounds like he's actually, I dunno, singing. Not trying to out-do the guitarist with his massive vocal rifts. I could do without the Screamo stuff, but it is 2016. At any rate, the under-played vocals are so darn refreshing.
Anyway, great album!

This is a prog rock tread please, I am sure there are enough other treads for this Music, as things get confusing for many
