Just finished listening to this, very impressive - Found it through ROON by searching for the album title, which just shows it as being by various artists, so there is some confusion between ROON and Qobuz.

Yeah, I've seen it referred to as various artists and I've seen it referred to as being from the band Ujig. Based on some of the song credits, I think it's the guys from Ujig at the core and various lineups of different musicians playing with them on a track by track basis. Whatever/whoever it is, I was impressed from the jump.

I'm gonna be checking out some of the other Ujig albums tonight, too.

Jacob Roberge’s debut album is definitely worth a listen. He’s a talented musician from Quebec, and his first release is seriously impressive.

I listened to a quick snatch of the first track and I'm intrigued so I threw it in my queue. Thanks for the rec! 🙏😎

Just gave the album a second spin, and it’s seriously blowing my mind. Maybe I’m a little biased since the guy is from Quebec like me, but it’s been a long time since I’ve heard a debut this strong.

Just finished my first playthrough - There will be many more!
Ignoring the fact that this is a debut album, it's simply incredible, every track is superb and the epic final track is a masterpiece 👍👍👍👍👍

[edit] Two plays and I headed to Bandcamp, wasn't there so bought it from Qobuz - It's simply one of the best albums I have heard in years and it just keeps getting better

Yep, I’m with you on that. I’m pretty sure this album will end up being one of my favorites this year.

Always happy to get the word out on some good tunes. 👍😎

For the sake of being topical, let me recommend what I'm currently listening to: Ujigami (rel. 2021) by Ujig. This album is a fusion album, but it's got some solidly proggy passages on it so I figure some folks here might dig it.

I'm glad you like it. It's new to me and is one of the best fusion albums I've come across in quite a while. It's got so many layers and nuances and it just keeps building on itself as it plays. I really enjoyed listening to it.

Still listening to the Jacob Roberge album here but I've added this to ROON's listen later section so I won't forget

Album of the year so far for me this….thanks for the rec.

It’s all great but that last track epic is awesome.
According to ROON I've played it 17 times so far and I'm still loving it every time, the final 32 minute track is one of the best things I've ever heard and that final guitar solo just finishes it off perfectly - My album of the year too.
