Profanity on head-fi?

I rarely swear, so I don't really have much of a practical problem with filtering scripts.
But they still seem useless to me (and easily bypassable if one wants).
And they are annoying when they take it too far; you can't say t w a t here, which isn't a problem for me, but if you have a link that has some word ending in T followed by "watch" it'll get messed up unless you mask it with ASCII hex characters.

I think how civilized a board is depends on its members, not on the censoring scripts.

A basketball board I post on blocks the first three letters of assist. Kinds funny considering how often that word is used.

EDITED

Those are the two most offensive words available. they should definitely be blocked.

Edit: Apparently they arent.

The EDITED didnt come from me, so thats good. Apologies to the mods for posting them. Hope I didnt upset anyone, my point being, after all, that such language is unacceptable.

Big Brother seems to watch the Member's Lounge the most. Must be where most of the fights start.

Head-Fi doesn't allow swearing not only because school and company networks may filter out the site but because this is a family website. So figuring out a clever way to say **** **** ******* or whatever you want to write is still swearing. And we don't like that here. :)

Good point, and I agree. This is a nice place most of the time.

But we have that other ****ing system in place just in case any one of you *******s gets out of hand and posts a bunch of ****!

I'm certain had Wayne read what Dan posted, he would not have posted that. Mods try to be consistent, even so, despite it being ironic and downright funny

we really should not strive to get around the filters. Again, besides this site having been black listed by corps/schools in the past (no joke there, some folks were complaining they could not access Head-fi anymore because stricter filtering had been implemented on their ends) the other point is that we try to have this place be a family level site, PG rated. If one should not or would not say something in front of or to a parent/grandparent/civil authority/pastor/priest/rabbi/head of state...then don't write it here either.

I would never want anyone to know the money I spent on Head-Fi equipment.
