This is an official distributor at your country upon their international distributor list.

https://www.henleyaudio.co.uk/cms/content/view/17

Hahaha you don't know how freaky that is! ....i come from just around the corner from there (live 100 miles away now) i will have a look and ring them also....i will say that they are probably pretty reputable though as the area that the company is in is very affluent, and mostly would be selling high end.

If anyone wants me to ask anything then please quote me as it's easy for me to ring and find out information from this distributor.

This sounds quite interesting. But, form their page, checking several of their authorized dealers in Canada, none list the S2. Also, there are no authorized dealers in the US. Not a big deal, unless, like me, one lives in the US...

I will be interested to follow this thread as more information comes in.

"Posted this already on another thread".
Snvynl.co.uk have it...but dont know the company and I think possibly eBay UK.

Thank you for your sharing your thoughts, if you will consider buying this DAC in the future let us know your observation.

I don't see exactly this product at snvinyl.co.uk (note the small correction in the url). Maybe they had one or two and already sold them? And as I mentioned to @majo123 in the other thread, on Amazon UK and eBay UK I've also found only other "D2" boxes that got me all excited at first, but turned out not to be this exact Pre Box D2 Digital DAC/amp. Those sellers wouldn't ship to me here in the States anyway.

I don't think the product has arrived on my side of the pond, and in fact even in Europe there may only be review units at key magazines and blogs. If the production schedule is normal and going as planned (as if that has ever happened), I'd expect to see this arrive at retailers by October.

At today's Head-Fi Meet I asked my local Pro-Ject retailer, Century Stereo, to look into ordering this. I'll be exchanging emails with them, and will let you know what they find out.

Cool. Did you see any thing new and fabulous at the Head-Fi meet?

It appears, from the specifications and design to be quite impressive. Even more so considering the price. Two questions remain for me. How does it sound, and how do I get one?

I know of only one review by someone who has actually listened to it. That review is in an Italian publication, but someone translated small parts of it for us on another forum. The reviewer describes a "disarming lucidity", "dynamics...really exemplary", and "champion performance", ending with this statement:

"With extreme simplicity, with a price that seems incredible, Pro-Ject simply sets a new benchmark, a new reference of compatibility and practicality. And of sonic performance." I can only imagine what this breathless praise sounds like in the original Italian.

As for how to get one, there are many US dealers who will be able to order this, I'm sure. Per previous posts above, UK retailers may be getting some very soon. I don't expect to see any Stateside that quickly, but I've asked a local retailer here to track one down for me.

I asked my local retailer, he informed me that it will be available at the end of September.

What is the interesting things here, when i took a look to HIFI-News magazine yesterday to compare this particular DAC\AMP to another high-performance DAC i figure out this DAC got a higher evaluation than the other DAC that cost 10x more!

That because the designer adopted the most advanced ship from ESS Sabre.

I have no doubt this DAC will let another company to think again and again for their upcoming project but what i'm looking for how is it deal with high-end headphones, time will tell.

And the other DAC was ?
And was their praise for it in absolute terms or good for its price level only?
I know they have recently reviewed Benchmark's DAC 3.
If this very competitively priced little thing beats their DAC 3, I can only say it must be pretty good overall. I'm still using Benchmark's DAC 2 and Chord HUGO, two DAcs that complement each other quite well with HUGO taking the upper hand with some material and DAC 2 with other recordings.
I am using both with HE 1000V2.

you are right, but maybe it can drive (LCD-X, MrSpeakers ÆON, HE1000, etc...) if i'm right.

It'll likely drive most easy to drive headphones alright, but some of the more power hungry cans out there won't do as well. But I cannot confirm this as I have not listened, it also depends on how much gain it has.

Hmm, am I correct in assuming that HUGO 2 is then, about ten times as powerful as the Pro Ject?
