IMHO, without question. It's not even close.

I don't have the FH3 anymore, so I don't know for sure, but I've never had any trouble driving them to high SPLs with any of my dongles. I can't say the same thing about some other IEMs I've had.

But if you get them, do yourself a favor and upgrade the cable ASAP. The FD5's went up a whole 'nother level when I switched to FiiO's LC-RE cable (the pure silver LC-RD made them a touch too bright sounding for me, but YMMV).

Most certainly not. I own them both and rarely pick up the FH3. It's a nice set no doubt but the fd5 is just an awesome iem.

A spare set? Hmm I understand the reason, but if I have some money for an new Earphone, I'd rather get something new to extend what I have and hear something new.
