I tend to agree with this sentiment.
Although frequency response measures aren't necessarily the final say, the bass shelf on the U12t should be plenty close.
Dynamic driver bass probably lends some extra "whump," but that's about all I can think of, outside of a few changes in general mids/treble frequency.
It honestly just feels like "something new" hype. I used to fall into this slump all of the time when I was going through TOTL headphones.

I signed an NDA so I couldn't talk about it until today, but for anyone who was curious, I replaced the U12t with the new U4s. Me, VSG, and some other reviewers have had them for the last couple months for evaluation.
