Will the A1 be able to adequately power the Audioengine P4?

I know the recommended wattage is 10-125W per channel. And I know that the A1 gives 14 watts per channel. So technically it should be enough. But does it power the P4s with authority, or will the A1 have to be turned up to max all the time just to hear anything?

I was just wondering if you/anyone had tried this combo as I would love to be able to use these together. Any words of wisdom, feiao?

It depends how loud you want them to go , the a1 is 10watts per channel & 8ohms or 14watts per channel & 4ohms, the p4's are rated at 4-8 Ohms i think this means there work at 4ohms with the a1 so you have 14watts per channel, the p4's are rated at 88dB  with 1 watt & 1 meter .
Use this http://myhometheater.homestead.com/splcalculator.html and you can calculate how loud they go at certain distances.
Whether is powers them with authority  depends on the sound signature of the amp.

Hi guys!

I am new to this forum! And I have a few questions about the Fiio A1, hope I found the right place to ask!
Personally I own the E9 +E7 and I am loving them like I love my computer! :D
Anyways, like other had already asked, when will it be available and the price it will be.
Secondly and more importantly, since I am new to speaker amps and speakers, can anyone recommend me some other small speakers like feiao suggested earlier the Control One?

Thanks
KeesoN

Hi,
Any review from the 100 luck buyers? I didn't realise there is a thread on the A1 as I was looking for a small amp 1-2 months back. Interested to find out how good does it sound compare to the trends 10.1.

Enjoy the amp!
