Are the A1's shipping out this week?  I start my Christmas vacation tomorrow so I'm looking forward to spending some quality time with the A1  
 
I have some Boston Acoustic Horizon MCS100 Speakers arriving tomorrow that I plan on pairing with the A1 ($29.99 each at tigerdirect.com a nice budget price, shame they only come in white ).  The specs say they will run fine with an 10 - 150 Watt amp so I hope they work well with the A1's power output.  Since they will be used on my desk in a confined area this should be plenty of volume.

Cool! Shame I will have to wait till after Christmas now to pick up some little speakers for it. Am thinking of going with the control one. If the A1 was voiced with them it makes sense.

I think it is smaller than control one, but I guess the bass will not good as JBL!  4 inch will be the best solution to desktop audio system! best balance of bass, middle and treble!
 
Can't waiting to hear some feedback of you when A1 pair with different speakers like JBL, BOSE, BOSTON, AE, SONY....

I can try the A1 out with a few different bookshelf speakers. I plan on using it with a pair of JBL Control 1s (which I picked up gently used for CAN$50 a couple of years ago); but, I can try it with a pair of Paradigm Atoms, Athena LS-50Bs and some Sony speakers that came with my Sony CMT-EX1. Right now I've been using the JBL Control 1s with CMT-EX1 and they sound amazing for the size and price. I can't wait to try them out with the A1 as my desktop setup.

Hope you will enjoy the setup! but personally I like monitor style and add a little bass!
 
BTW, it is not me who decide the sound of our products, LOL! just one secret that the drive unit of the control one is finished by our sound engineer in 10 years ago!

It has a 3.5" woofer and a 1" soft dome tweeter. The pictures look very nice. I think this should give you fuller sound and better treble quality.
 
The woofer driver looks neat. That phase plug is so cute!

I'm at work so I haven't had a chance to play with it yet. I'll provide some initial feedback tonight or tomorrow once I hook it up at home.

I just got the A1 in Spain (1 hour ago) DHL wonderful job.
My first impressions are very good, superb finish (as pictured) and the sound also.

I find no difference in power with an M20 Muse Ex2 (Ta2020 wts of 25 +25) and very good sound quality.
I will continue doing tests.
