I tried a few different variations, this is the one that I ended up liking the most. I like the spot of light near the bottom, which is passing through the arch. Backing up sufficiently to frame the mountains larger against the arch is relatively prohibitve due to another larger rock rising behind the spot I took this shot from. At best it's a moderly wide angle shot rather than the ultrawide I used here, and being that the mountains are still 10-15 air miles away, it's not very possible to really make the mountains loom large in this shot.
I see. It's hard to look at a photo and not have been there, since we don't have any clue what type of constraints the photographer had to deal with. I can see a photo and envision a different angle that would give a different perspective, but at the end of the day it's pointless if you can't physically do it. ^_^
Thanks for the info Iron_Dreamer!
OHH, crap. After going through a few humid countries, my Canon S95 seems to have developed fungus under the lens.Any idea how to open the front lens element (possible?), or do I need to open the camera body in order to get to the lens.
