thanks milkweg, it's a Nikon D80 with Tamron 90mm f2.8 macro. I used tripod and cable release for both shots plus a silver reflector to light the bottom of the mushroom.

A Tamron, eh? How much did that lens cost? They make one for Olympus mount? I need a cable release too. I have a remote control for another Olympus camera I have and it is supposed to work on my E510 too but it doesn't so need a cable release instead.

Its about $460 and there is currently a $60 MIR, I'm not sure what Olympus is compatible with but Tamron makes it with Canon, Nikon, Minolta and Pentax mounts.
