Nice tutorial. You should watch those end points though.

Thanks for the info. Yea, it was just a general edit to show how it's done. Nothing fancy, so I didn't mind if I clipped. Though to be honest, even when I edit my own photos I'm not too worried about it if it doesn't take away important detail.

Also, it's best to do as much as possible through global corrections like curves since going selective like that can introduce posterization. Global corrections to get you 90% there and then the little tweaks usually works well.

I agree. I made that mistake as I was starting out.

And turning on gamut warning helps too when your so close to the edge with bright or saturated colors. That also introduces posterization.

I totally didn't know about this feature. Thank you very much for the info. I'm going to fool around with it.

Yeah, staying within gamut can be a pain especially when you set it up with a print color profile but for general screen display it's still helpful. Go beyond it and that data is lost.

If you didn't know, you can nail those endpoints by using Levels. Hold down the option key on the mac or alt on windows while pulling those input level sliders inward. The whole screen should go black or white slowing showing where there's detail as you move back and forth.

On CS3, it can also be done through Curves.

Thank you! I didn't expect detail to that extent. It was very useful, exactly what I was interested in learning. Your other videos were really helpful too. This is definitely going to help me out for almost every shot I take from here on out.

Ah, that's always nice to hear things like this.
Thanks.

Never get any wicked races now dads car is a CL55. Used to have tons of races with M3 etc. In the C320.

I love the one you are using as a desktop, better in colour though. Could you post the full-res one for a desktop? The one you posted looks over sharpened or pixelated (prolly the latter) when blown up

Thanks Alot,

Matt

Hey Matt, I was doing the chasing with a Honda Odyssey (3.5L V6, 250HP) minivan. He wasn't going especially fast because he was somewhat constrained by traffic. And I never get any races in the minivan.

How much does it cost over there?

A roll of colour negs cost about 5 singapore dollars and a roll of B&W cost about 7 singapore dollars to process.

Which would equate to about 2 GBP and 2.7 GBP respectively..

Colour negs cost about £5 for 24 exposures, B&W costs a bit more.
