Rickenbacker 4003 bass (jetglo 4-string).

While one has to endure the claims of Geddy Lee clonery (although, at the Vapor Trails show I went to, he was playing a Fender Jazz), and the less common claims of Chris Squire clonery, this guitar and I are old friends. I like the high end on it quite a bit; although, it has the goods at the low, low end.

I also have a Fender Precision Bass, which is OK. I much prefer the Rick, though.

Here's my ESP/LTD H-207 Bolt-On 7-String...with duncan designs (need new pups)...
Crate 8" amp, distortion sounds terrible with the duncan designs, my old Jackson's ceramics sounded great though..
DS-1 distortion is my friend's and sound awful, but better than my amp's...

I really need a new amp setup, in fact...I think I'm gonna get a different guitar too...I like mine, but whatever... I can't get hte action the way I want it and it's got a dead spot

Thanks. I love it for its versatility and playability. Great neck. Yikes, EMGs?? What travesty! You lose out on the functionality of the beautiful coil-tapped tones...

One of my mates has that too... lol. How does it play? I've been playing for around 3 years... and i find the sg extreme too hard to play. What type of music do you play mostly?

x2.. IMHO... part of satchs signature lead tone is those snarling dimarzios...

Noithing agianst EMGs though... those things saved my butt many times gigging in EMI noisy environments.

My dad has a 1970 Martin D-28 that has a beautiful sound but is currently in a shop being repaired! It has a small crack in the neck for whatever reason that we are getting repaired, among other things (new pick-guard, etc.).

What kind of Jackson is that?

As for an SG guitar, I hate those things. They're thin pieces of plywood that don't sit right on your body. Some poeple love them, but I loathe them. If you want an SG-styled guitar that actually sits properly on your body and has some heft to it, I suggest getting an ESP Viper guitar (the 50 series is great for the price $170-220) and has some nifty designs. www.espguitars.com
