So did I (your post actually made me check out the thread, then hit ebay, then the buy button, heh). Was sort of disappointed at how my 780s did out of my Creative Zen, and from the reviews and the price, this should be a nice little upgrade, especially as I don't need a portable enough to spend more than what I did on this one.

Well I'm going to work so I'll buy food. I work at a grocery store but today's probably my last day cuz I got a job at a Dunkin Donuts right by the house. Man I can't wait for college.

Are those really cheap in the States or something? I keep seeing people who have them in pictures and such. Here it's a good $30 cheaper at least to get a 500GB SATA Western Digital hard drive and an enclosure.

There are normally sales going on somewhere for them. I got a Seagate FreeAgent 500gb for about $80 shipped two months ago.

You start to hit the major price deviations at the 1TB size - I've seen quite a few 1TB external drives go for $300-350 when you can pick up two 500gb drives for $60-80, depending on sales and promotions.

Sort of interesting to note...two years I bought an 80gb external for $100, then last year I bought a 250gb external for about $90, and then this year, a 500gb for $80. I'm waiting for large flash memory drives to start taking off. I think Samsung has an all-solid state hard drive, but it's small - I think 60-odd gigs - and runs something like $750 last I checked. Flash memory gets cheaper by the month, and the size just keeps going up.
