Income wise, i probably make the least out of anyone here, and seeing a guy with a porshe and/or a ferrari makes me really think it more so. One thing im certain of is I could never spend 1500$ on headphones, i really went big with 425 for my D5000s, but again thats me.

Yep, I know where you're coming from. It took some real self convincing when I bought my DT1350 for $300 new and my Westone 4 for $350 used. Believe it or not it hasn't ended there, I'm now looking at getting a Leckerton mobile amp/DAC ($200) combo to mate with my next huge purchase. I'm actually contemplating buying a Audio Technica CK100 Pro ($500-$700) and  have been thinking of upgrading from my Sony MDR EX600 ($160) to a Sony MDR EX1000 ($300-$500). If that wasn't bad enough I also have the JVC Victor FX700 ($300-$375) and the Ortofon e-Q7 ($300-$350) on my future shopping list. Other stuff I have in my stable a Grado SR60i Sony XB 500 and 700 Sennheiser HD25-i-ii Adidas, Monster Pro Coppers, Klipsch X10 and S4, and UE 600 and 700.

I've become so @#$%ing broke since I started hanging out here.

Well, the LCD-2 to the SR-009 is a big jump in price. $1,000 plus amp($200-$3,000) to $5,300 plus amp($4,250-$6,000). That is a $6,500-$10,000 difference. That may or may not be considered a significant difference. In relation to the other headphone system you are considering, it is vastly more expensive; compared to your cars, it is nothing. If you are aiming for the best, go for the SR-009 so that way you don't second guess yourself. Better yet, get both. I have both and I am an unemployed nursing student.

Do I dare skip the LCD-2 and go for the SR-009?

New wheels and tires. If this doesn't count, will it help if I say that I'm getting a new head-unit soon? I definitely need to upgrade the audio.
Next purchase is hopefully a Ferrari F430 in the future. I will be driving one this summer.

Please excuse the dirtiness. She was stored for 3 weeks when I was in the Philippines.

Bought a HEGEL HD2 DAC, but I found it too analytical and cold for me so it's back to the asus xonar essence stx for now. Might get a musical fidelity dac instead, to complement the musical fidelity m1 hpa I've got (love it!)

That's fine. I haven't spend more than $330 (yet) for headphones (Pro 900). $425 is a lot for cans IMO so that's a big purchase.

Ahhhh, wow I just realized the SR-009's price was in a different currency. I personally wouldn't be able to justify spending >$3,800. I thought it was about $3,700 so I'll have to cross them off my list. I'll be saving $5300+ towards a $25,000 watch.

I'll just go with the LCD-2.

I wonder how they compare. Have you written a review/comparison?

Have you finished going to school for Nursing?

I am still in school. I have a while left. two semesters after this one. I should hopefully graduate in May 2013. I have not actually listened to my SR-009 yet, so obviously no comparison. I sold my old STAX amp, and am now waiting for a KGSSHV. Until that arrives the SR-009 just sits in it's box.

If I was going to buy an expensive watch I think it would be a Patek Philippe Calatrava. I don't like things that are very flashy. Of course I have no plans to buy one anyway. After I graduate my priorities will be to buy a new car and then a house.

Hows that Corsair power supply working out for your? Is it loud? System specs?
Im looking at buying the 600w version of that supply.

I changed the fans that came with the Corsair H70 and I'm using quieter ones -- the noise generated by the two fans I used are not distracting.  I do have other many fans running in the system, but I can adjust the RPM on all of them through the Scythe controller.  It's the fans on my MSI GF 560Ti Golden Edition that really make a racket when throttled up beyond 60%.  I play BF3 @ 1920x1080 with all settings set to Ultra, but with Deferred-AA and Motion blur disabled.  For Metro, however, I enable 2x Deferred-AA.  I have the 560Ti o/c'd to 992 core (1087mV), 2190 mem.

I have a Core i7-930 rock-solid stable at 4GHz with the Corsair and temps are never an issue, so I'm pleased with the H70 beyond words.

The PSU seems to do its job and was a good deal.  Not modular though, so if you're lazy like me your case is going to have lots of cables in it.

Nice. Was it a package deal or did you do the build? I brought an i5 2500k build to life last week. What CPU/GPU did you get?

LALs!

Nice. Any plans to manage those cables?

I posted mine a few weeks ago, but what the heck. It took a lot of work and it will blend in nicely with this current page.

I built the whole thing... the hardest part was actually the Scythe fan controller... it was next to impossible to screw in but I finally got it.  Sadly, I don't have the time to do proper cable management, but the cables are actually tucked for the most part out of the way of the airflow.

Your build is a work of art.  You could put some boutique builds to shame!

I have a Core i7-930 (@ 4GHz), MSI GF 560Ti Golden, and an Asus Xonar STX.

new frame + Zeiss lenses. I'm not entirely sure whether is the prescription being slightly different or the Zeiss', but what an improvement.
I always favoured contact lenses for their vision over glasses, but not so much now. very pleased.

Very nice.  Which tires did you get?  (it's hard to tell from the image).  Continental ExtremeContact DW?
