My mind is just blown by their price lately. Some of these vintage cans are getting tough to stomach.

Well it is indeed a lot of money...

Marantz ( and McIntosh, IMO ) do make some of the classiest looking gear around that isn't over the top obnoxious.
My new vintage can:
Paid $375 shipped including an extra set of ear pads, or roughly 1/15th what an SR-009 would co$t. They are in great shape, and I really like how they sound.

I was extremely surprised recently when hearing the 404LE compared to the 009. They sounded really good. The 009 was clearly better, but Stax are a pretty great thing.
Well, some of them are. I can't enjoy quite a few of their models though.
