The only issue I had with accessing sockets for opamps was the small switch for different BAL/SE modes. It's possible to break it taking the PCB out.

Did you try to change op-amps? Does better op-amps change overall sound? How do you like the sound of ADV? Thanks a lot

I did change them to OPA1656 and soldered some bypass capacitors.
Wouldn't say I hear difference, but the original opamps were fake for sure - specs weren't close to originals.
Overall I think it's good for price - powerful and sounds good.

Today Burson sent me some of their V6 Vivid Op amps for my little bear tube amp. At first listen I am floored by the difference but hope as they burn in that the high end settles down a little. Made my xenns tea a little too bright for my taste lol..

How does it sound now? Does the high drops a little?

I'm thinking if getting v6 classic would give more tube sound than getting the v6 vivid.

PS: As for portable tube I'll be sitting on the side lines for compact with Bluetooth/Dac, however been eyeing for awhile, I'm also into tubes with a Yaqin MC13S Mullards EL34 + Telephunken.

I was absolutely blown away with how good this "GAD ADV" sound in balanced mode connected to my XD05PRO line output. With balanced cable Focal Clear sounds just fantastic with this little monster for its price. I will try to swap some other OP-AMP with this "GAD ADV mini tube portable amplifier", I hope it will sound even better, but for now it exceeds all my expectations

The DAC version of the tap1 apparently has dual CS43131, but that doesn't mean that the tap2 dac is the same

I wanted to use my bx-4 on an amplifier as a valve buffer but noticed it had a large DC offset of around 300mv. Does anyone know how to reduce that please? Thanks

worth noting, considering the GAD ADV, that it got a nice little update: now it has a -10db switch, which makes it easier to use.
Definitely a fun little amp, good for the price.

It's my first tube amp and my usual gear is also used for producing, so it is as clinical and neutral as possible. It makes it really fun to do some A-B comparison between said gear and what I get out of the ADV which adds a lot of nice little imperfections, warmth and distortion.
It's nothing major, but still, it's different enough to make it fun.

Does anyone know if the LM4562 oamps that come from the factory can be replaced with the Burson V5i in the GAD ADV amplifier?
Is there enough space?
