So, I have my desktop setup and now I want to get more into the portable world; I figured the HD 25 would be a great place to start. Along with the actual headphone I'll be getting the BTG audio midnight cable. I currently have a Galaxy SIII and I'm wondering if that will be sufficient in driving them with some FLAC/ ALAC/ 320 kbps MP3 audio files.

Bump, would the Fiio E11, E12, or E18 be a good choice?

A headphone amp plugged into the headphone output on the S3 may not offer you much SQ benefit. It largely depends on whether or not the S3 can drive them to the volume you want.

Might be best to wait and see what you think once you get the headphones. I personally find hauling around a headphone amp to attach to my Note 2 not worth the bit of SQ benefit.

If the E18 will connect to the S3 via usb audio out so that you can use it's DAC, then you would get more SQ benefit.
