Maybe my hearing just isn't good. I plugged my IE 400 Pro IEMs into the Q3 and turned the volume up to 100% on high gain with nothing playing and I couldn't hear any hissing.

Also, using my HD 660s in my Q3 on low or high gain doesn't sound any different than the $9 Apple dongle out of my iPhone. I do like the premium feel of the Q3 with the volume knob though, so there's that, however, if I wanna be on the go, I'll just plug into the Apple dongle.

somethink wrong with your equipment but Q3 is lower output power vs Q3 MQA. im connected my lcd-2c cb to fiio Q3 MQA and at low gain volume up at 100% way too big sound for my ears. comfortable is 70% of volume. and thats from 3.5mm output 170mW, balanced will be 330mW and lined up to usb-c gives 370mW !!! Fiio Q3 MQA is animal for 110gr weight

I listen at less than 50% volume, I was just testing the noise floor but couldn’t hear any hiss even on high gain with sensitive IEMs.

Can this amp drive 300ohm headphones in balanced mode?
If not can someone recommend a good amp that could?
Dear friend,

The output power of Q3MQA is 40mW(300Ω,THD+N<1%). And due to individual preferences, you could read the professional reviews and comparisons, as well as try out by yourself.

Best regards
