well I just listened to my xin supermacro 3 with my hd600's today and I thought it sounded amazing. I was really surprised. I prefered it to my heed canamp by just a hair. there was no clear winner there of course, i just felt that the xin adds a silkyness that i love. But that could be an opamp difference, and i cant remember which im using

I haven't heard the hornet with hd600 but I would NOT recomend the sr-71. This was my first amp combo and I had to move on because the sr-71, IMHO has a dip in the mids that makes vocals feel so far away, and distant, and the sennheisers kind of have this as well, so it was not a good combo. I actually prefered the sound signiture straight out of the ipod with the hd600's

I love the RSA Hornet with the HD600s. I use the Cardas headphone cable with the mini plug, ALO Cotton dock and my iPod. Great for use in different rooms of the house.

I've just picked up a Hornet from Ray (I live 15 min. away from him). Great guy! We had a little chat and he recommended an HD600 for classical, which is what I listen to the most. And then he let me listen to his new Apache+HD600. WOOOOW!!!

I think you are have an advantage if you just happen to have the headphones the amp designer used to voice your headphone amp

I know Sword Yang the designer for the Little Dot amp has expressed a "fondness" for the Senn HD600.
