If you closed head-fi for a day that would prevent him from replying for an entire 24 hours

I just heard my grandma died so I didn't respond after that for a while and now I see that it's going in a strange direction here.
I don't feel like further discussion at the moment. Hope no-one minds.

Heck no!

Sorry to hear about that.

rick, please do not, otherwise i'm gonna be seriously mad.

look, i want my original point addressed. i want a FAIR policy on closing threads.

as far as i know, no mod or jude has resolved the problem yet. or even said if it's not a problem.

say something.

I gotta have the last word.
Head-Fi burped and I just got back to it.
Maybe soon some thread closing guidlines can be posted in the rules of conduct section.

edit
Rick, if you could just post your phone number here, I can call you so we can discuss this in private.

What ?

Was in the process of closing the thread and there is the

"HEY GOAT HOLDIT (stymie of the little rascals)"

Seriously mad ?

dude !

you take this way too damn seriously

OK

The policy on closing threads has already been covered

so i guess it is the parting shots that have your dander up

It is not the "policy" for moderators to add to a thread once a lock has been put on it but

JEEZ GUYS !

YOU CAN NOT HAVE IT BOTH WAYS !

no matter how we attempt to deal with this someone will alsways feel slighted

a lock with no comment ?

"WHY IS THE THREAD LOCKED" and we get three pages from a new thread crying foul

My earlier response to locked thread was an innocent thing where coming at it from Outlook I responded ,did not notice the lock (which has no effect on me anyway) and hit send

once my error was pointee out the offending response was sent bye bye

This post lock commenting is not the norm and is usually either

A- an honest mistake

or

B-an attempt to explain the the membership at large why said thread was no longer open for participation

The person or persons involved that caused the lock usually already know having been contacted by "teacher" and notified as to where they went wrong and how we , the moderators, will be most happy to showing them the correct forms to be followed as a member of head-fi wishing to participate in an open discussion

We do our best and perfect we are not

considering how diverse this crowd is the surprise is not how many we p*ss off but how many we do not !

Can i lock it up now ?

The above is as a MODERATOR and not as MEMBER rick

and the above is a serious attempt to explain a stuation that may be ambiguos to some

again ,we do the best we can

Yeah, I'm with Rick. I'd much rather have an explanation at the end of a closed thread (especially if its reason for closing was unclear -- the PinkFloyd/Jan threads were very obvious) than just a random locking.

And of course if you feel the thread was closed prematurely or in error, then you could PM the mods and discuss it with them.

I can't believe I'm actually siding with the moderators for once.

once again, as said before, justifications for closing the thread are good. but most mods write much more than that. just look for yourself.

no opinions please.
